We are firmly committed to safeguarding your personal details and handling them with the utmost confidentiality. We strictly adhere to the legal requirements laid out by the European Union's data protection laws — especially the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — and other pertinent rules.
This document explains how we manage your personal data when you access or interact with our website www.cargo4s.com and when you use our online user platform at app.cargo4s.com. It also informs you about your rights under the GDPR.

Scope of data protection
Central to data protection is the notion of “personal data”. This encompasses any piece of information that can be linked back to a distinct or potentially identifiable individual — identifiers like names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and similar.
More detailed insights into the specific personal data we handle can be found in the sections below.
Website interaction
When you visit our website, the browser on your device automatically relays certain data to our server. This data is temporarily retained in a designated log file. The following data points are auto-captured and maintained temporarily until automatic deletion:
- IP address of the accessing device
- Timestamp of the visit
- Name and URL of the accessed page
- Source site of the access (referrer URL)
- The succeeding website accessed via our domain
- The browser, potential OS of your device, and the name of your ISP
We process this data for several objectives:
- Guaranteeing uninterrupted website connectivity
- Ensuring a user-friendly experience on our site
- Overseeing system stability and security
- Miscellaneous administrative purposes
The foundation for this data processing is Art. 6, Sect. 1, Clause 1, Subclause f GDPR. Our data collection aims are informed by the points above. At no point do we use the collected data to infer individual details. Our website usage also involves cookies and analytical tools, explained further below.
Subscribing to our newsletter
Upon granting explicit consent as per Art. 6 Sect. 1, Clause 1, Subclause a GDPR, we use your email address to send you our newsletter. For this service, an email address is all that's needed.
By subscribing you consent to receive email updates from Cargo 4S, UAB, covering our services and broader logistics trends. You can withdraw this consent at any moment — either by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the end of any newsletter, or by emailing [email protected].
After consent, we send a verification email. To finalise the subscription, you must click the verification link.
If you transact on our platform and share your email, it may be used to send targeted newsletters promoting services or products similar to those previously procured. The legal basis for such communications is Art. 6 Sect. 1, Clause 1, Subclause f GDPR. Unsubscribing is always available via the link in each newsletter or by emailing [email protected]. Data required for the newsletter is deleted once it is no longer necessary, unless legal retention applies.
Contact form and email interaction
For collaboration-related queries, we provide an on-site contact form. We ask for your company name, full name, business email, business phone, country, and the number of containers your company ships per year. This information helps us understand the context of your request and respond effectively.
You can also email us directly — in that case the personal data in the email is stored.
The rationale for this data processing is Art. 6 Sect. 1, Clause 1, Subclause f GDPR. If the contact aims to initiate a contract, processing is also grounded in Art. 6 Sect. 1, Clause 1, Subclause b GDPR. Once your query is resolved, the corresponding data is deleted.
Job application submission
When you apply for a position with Cargo 4S, UAB — through our platform, email, LinkedIn, post, or any other medium — we collect the personal details you provide in your application.
We process this data to support recruitment: coordinating interviews, evaluating candidates, reviewing results, and addressing other recruitment-related needs. The processing is justified under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interests centre around the acquisition, assessment, and final selection of applicants.
We retain your personal details for the duration necessary to evaluate your application. Under GDPR you have rights to access, amend, erase, or limit processing of your data. As our processing relies on legitimate interests, you may object — please include your reasons so we can assess the situation and either stop, adjust, or demonstrate compelling grounds to continue. Applicants also have data portability rights, and may contact the relevant regulatory authority if they suspect irregularities.
Services via our online platform
Clients can maintain a dedicated profile on our platform to review past transactions, order new transportation services, and manage the personal details needed to process future orders. Because we facilitate global services, certain personal details must be shared with our associates (transport entities) and third-party vendors (communication platforms, cloud services, etc.).
The legal basis for managing profile details and executing services is Art. 6(1) GDPR — such processing is pivotal for honouring the service contract.
You can request profile deactivation at any time. Until then, data is preserved for your convenience. After deactivation, order-specific data is blocked when the order is finalised (after warranty expiry) and purged once retention requirements lapse. The same applies for data from orders placed without an account.
Sharing & transferring to external entities
Your personal data is disclosed to external entities only when it aligns with data protection regulations:
- When you have granted explicit consent for specific objectives (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- If data handling is vital for a contract with you or pre-contract actions you initiated (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To satisfy legal obligations we are bound to (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To uphold our legitimate interests or those of a third-party, provided your primary rights don't supersede these (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We also partner with specialised service vendors — designated as data processors under GDPR Article 28 — who handle your data on our behalf. We vet these providers carefully. Examples:
- Google Analytics — Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

Important notes
Data requirement —providing your data isn't a legal or contractual obligation, nor is it needed for contract conclusions. If you don't give us your data, there is no downside for you.
Automated decision making —we don't use your data for automated decision-making processes.
Data transfer —unless otherwise specified, we don't plan to share your data with third countries or international entities.
How we protect your data
While browsing our website, we use SSL encryption to safeguard your data (typically 256-bit; if your browser doesn't support that, we use the highest supported level). A locked key symbol in your browser indicates encrypted transmissions.
Beyond encryption, we have implemented strategies to safeguard your data against mishandling, loss, destruction, or unauthorised access. These measures evolve with technology.
Updates to this policy
The current privacy policy is effective from December 2023. Given website progression, new offers, or changes in regulations, we may need to update this policy. The latest version is always available at cargo4s.com/privacy.
